March 29- April 1 2010

Dear Kindergarten Parents,

I hope you all had an enjoyable spring break with your families! I am very excited to be back this short week! This week starts the beginning of the 4th quarter! We are moving forward in our Phonics curriculum and will be learning about long vowels. A long vowel says its own name. A silent “e" at the end of a word makes the vowel before it long. This week we will be focusing on the long vowel “a”. In Math this week, will be learning how to graph a picture on a pictograph and continuing to learn about tangrams.
In Science, we will be learning about the different tools we can use to measure weather such as how warm or cold it is, how much rain falls and how much the wind blows   In Social Studies, we will review directions N, E, S, W and review the seven continents! In Religion, we will learn about this Holy Week and what it all means in our Catholic Faith!
I hope your Holy Week is blessed as we continue to prepare our hearts for the resurrection of our Lord! As always, please feel free to email me at alashinski@hfamn.org or call me at 952-925-9193 if you have any questions. Please allow me 24 hours to get back to you!

Blessings,

Miss Amy Lashinski
