April 19-23

The Fifth Grade students will be leading the Rosary at the all school assembly on Monday, April 19,  We will be praying for Pope  Benedict on the 5th anniversary of his election.  You are invited to join us.

Congratulations to our classmate, Sarah R., who won first runner up in the Archdiocesan Missionary Writing Contest!  Over 360 students in the Archdiocese submitted poems and prayers that they wrote about being a Missionary. Sarah was presented an Archdiocesan Award here at school Friday by Deacon Mickey Friezen from the Office of Missions. Congratulations Sarah!

The rough drafts of the Historical Research projects will come home by Monday, April 19.  The students should return them to school typed, complete with cover page and bibliographies, by Monday, April 26.

Religion-  Our lessons this week will be about Jesus commissioning the apostles to continue His work through the Church he found. The students are asked to have the prayer the Regina Caeli memorized by Friday.

Science-  We will begin work in Physical Science this week as we study the properties of matter.

Reading-  We will begin our last class novel, A Wrinkle in Time.  100 Reading minutes are due by Friday.

English-  Pronouns

Spelling-  Unit 29 Spelling book pages are due by Thursday.  Unit 29 Spelling test is on Friday.

Math-  We will be testing over Chapter 10 on Wednesday.
