Dear Parents,

This week at Holy Family Academy we have been focusing on vocations and our call to holiness. Each day there was a trivia question in which the winners earned a picture with a life size cut out of Pope Benedict XVI. Today students listened to a seminarian share about how to discern one’s vocation. It is such a gift to see students so open to God’s will in their lives.

In religion we finished up the unit about virtue. They each have a folder with a handout about each of the virtues they learned about. They should use this to study for the test on Thursday.

In history we are focusing on South America. We read about the Amazon River and the rainforest today. In addition, we have finished up learning about Islam. Students will also have a quiz on this chapter on Monday. We have reviewed in class.

In language arts we will be starting a new novel, and working on our new all school writing project about the priesthood.

In math we learned how to bisect angles and segments with compasses. We also practiced measuring the size of an angle with a protractor.

Students were given a handout about the tri-fold board for the Academic Fair. The cost is $8. If you have any questions or concerns about the cost, please don’t hesitate to e-mail me. The money is due Friday, March 12th

Thank you for the incredible opportunity of being your 6th grader’s teacher!

Sincerely In Christ,

Ms. Burrill
