November 16

1st Grade

We continue to review the vocabulary associated with “sizes” and “colors" already learnt. Additionally, we are learning the question “¿Qué es?” (what is this?) and more names of colors.

Students should practice the numbers 0-10; they should recognize the name of a number without the number being said in sequential order.

Students should review and know all the information found on the written worksheets about Patricia, Gordo and Ernesto. And review “size” vocabulary: grande (big), mediano (medium), pequeño (small).

By now, students should know vocabulary and spelling related to “shapes” and “colors” (the vocabulary students should know appear on their worksheets).

We are learning and practicing “plurals” with colors. For example:

(1) La mesa es marrón.            (The table is brown)
(2) Las mesas son marrones.  (The tables are brown)

          (1) El oso es negro.          (The bear is black.)
          (2) Los osos son negros. (The bears are black.)

5th Grade

If you are visiting the school, please stop by the wall next to room 202 and see the students’ work about the “Hispanic Saints.”

We are learning “los miembros de la familia” (the members of the family) – the students should review the worksheets at home. We will be working with short stories. Everything that the students have to study will be on their worksheets. Please remind your child to take the worksheets home!
