October 26
October 26.
We only have six Spanish classes left in the first quarter, which ends November 6th.
Please encourage your child to practice the worksheets at home so he/she can finish the Quarter with great grades!
1st Grade
We are learning a song about “números” (numbers). Please motivate your child to try to sing it to you. I also suggest asking them to say the Sign of the Cross, in Spanish. (You might learn it too!!!)
La Señal de la Cruz (The Sign of the Cross)
En el nombre del Padre, In the name of the Father,
del Hijo, the Son,
y del Espíritu Santo. and the Holy Spirit.
Amén. Amen.
2nd Grade
We are reading! Please ask your child to practice the worksheet about “Patricia” and read it to you. (It's a small, orange fish)
3rd Grade
I’m enjoying listening to the students’ personal stories. They put their story illustrations on the board and tell the story to the class.
We are also learning “Las formas” (shapes) and reviewing “Los colores” (the colors).
4th Grade
We have learnt “El otoño” (Fall). There will be a test on Monday. They need to practice the two worksheets about “El otoño.”
5th Grade
The 5th graders are learning about Spanish Saints.
As part of the all school writing assignment about Saints, we will do a Spanish grade level written work.
The research of the questions about the Spanish Saints should be finished by Monday 26th.
Remember! The research should be done using material written in English, not inSpanish.
I want the students to be familiar with the lives of the Saints, so it will be easier for them to understand me when I’ll be talking about these Saints in Spanish.
The Spanish Saints that we will study are: Saint Rose of Lima, Saint Teresa of Avila, Saint John of the Cross, Saint Ignatius of Loyola and Saint Juan Diego. I will also talk about Saint Martin of Porres, but the students do not have to research him.
