Our Holy Father is an Artist!

Its true! Our Holy Father, Pope Benedict, is a very accomplished pianist. He has performed several concerts in the past few years.

On November 21st, the Holy Father will be hosting a gathering in the Sistine Chapel for artists from around the world. Famous painters,  directors, and musicians have been invited to come. The Vatican said the gathering is intended as a step toward a "new and fertile alliance between art and faith" The art world and the Church have been at odds since artists began create work that condemned the Church and the truth over a century ago. The Holy Father hopes to reunite the great bond of the past between the Church and artists.

This artist gathering reminds us of the importance of using our creative gifts in the service of our Lord. I hope to help the Holy Father reunite the Church and artists by teaching about God's beauty and love in my lessons.

The students have begun painting with watercolors. They love any project that lets them experiment with color!
