Welcome Bach!
O sing to the Lord a new song, for he has done marvelous things!
Psalm 98:1
Dear Parents and Students,
There is a saying “It is the music that motivates.”
A busy year is planned with music lessons that I know will motivate and inspire the students to want to discover more.
Along with singing seasonal folk songs this September, Grade K-8 will begin the year learning patriotic music in preparation for expressing our gratitude to our Veterans. These songs will be performed at Holy Family Academy’s annual “Veteran’s Day Breakfast Program” on November 11.
In early November we will begin practicing for our Advent/Christmas Program scheduled on December 21st.
In late Spring, Grades PreK-3, will bring together their combined talents to present a program you will not want to miss.
From January through May, each class will complete units of study related to Church Music, Folk Songs, Instruments of the Orchestra, Composers and Their Music, and Music Reading/Theory. Students will apply what they have learned by singing, through movement activities, and playing rhythm instruments, recorders, and hand bells.
Lessons will be posted by grade level each week on my blog.
I am looking forward to seeing everyone again!
God Bless!
Mrs. Carlson
