If your student is in seventh or eighth grade here at HFA you may have already heard from them about their upcoming art presentation. By now your child should be researching for the presentation due on March 4th.  Below is a copy of the project instructions sheet. Taking Watercolors to the Next Step!

Fifth graders are beginning to experiment with professional watercolors. They are learning to mix the primary colors together to create the secondary colors. The students are experimenting with color wheels and soon they will begin their first composition.

Eighth Grade Acrylic’s

Eighth graders at Holy Family are trying out acrylic paint for the first time. So far they are doing very well. Acrylics are water based just like watercolors. However, acrylics look and feel a bit more like oil paints.

Noah’s Ark Watercolor with Kindergarten

It has been a great blessing to teach my brand new class of kindergarteners. My goal is to have all their names memorized by the end of this month. I spent the majority of September and October teaching the little ones how to draw shapes and lines. I have been very impressed with how quickly they learn!

Our Holy Father is an Artist!

Its true! Our Holy Father, Pope Benedict, is a very accomplished pianist. He has performed several concerts in the past few years.
