Thanks to all the Holy Family families who participated in our Noodles fundraiser on November 3rd: standing room only the entire time! The total amount of money raised was $3,000!  We have thank you cards heading their direction and hope that you, too, will patronize their restaurant and thank them for their generosity to our school.  The money raised at this fundraiser will go toward the musical instrument our students would have received had we reached our Marathon goal; the balance will go to our general operating budget.  Thank you!  Thank you!  Thank you! Top

Have you called in your RSVP, or that of a loved one, for our Veterans Day breakfast on Wednesday, November 11th yet? The morning includes a wonderful breakfast, delightful student program, and guest speaker, Top Gun Fighter Pilot, Lt Col Alex Plechash.  The event will be in Kattar Hall and begins immediately following morning Mass (about 8:40 am). If you know Veterans who would like to attend, please invite them and their spouses to this special morning of appreciation. Please call the school office at 952-925-9193 to make reservations today. Free-will donations will be accepted. Parents are welcome to come for coffee and rolls.  Top

So that we may proceed in our fundraising goals and meet the needs of our families, we need your important input!  A Marathon letter and survey was sent home with the oldest student in each family this past week.   Please complete your survey and return it to the school as soon as possible.  Your insight, suggestions and wisdom are needed and greatly appreciated.  Thank you!  Top

  • Congratulations to the Varsity Soccer team!  They placed 1st in the MCYO for the season and 2nd in the play-offs.  They also brought home the first ever "Twin Cities" trophy by placing 4th against the CAA of St. Paul; which is comprised of over 35 schools.  Way to go Crusaders!!
  • Congratulations to the Cub (6th grade and under) Volleyball team!  They won 3rd place in the end of the year tournament.  This is only the second year for HFA volleyball - way to go girls!
  • The Volleyball end of season party will be Monday, November 9th at 6:00 pm in Kattar Hall.  There will be pizza, pop, cake & ice cream.  Players and coaches are admitted free; the cost of all others is $4 per person or $14 per family.  Please RSVP to sports@hfamn.org if your family will be attending.
  • The Soccer end of season party will be Thursday, November 12th at 6:00 pm in Kattar Hall.  There will be pizza, pop, cake & ice cream.  Players and coaches are admitted free; the cost of all others is $4 per person or $14 per family.  Please RSVP to sports@hfamn.org if your family will be attending.
  • Those of you who have signed up for basketball, look for an email next week outlining practices for the month of November.  Lisa Counts is also looking for coaches for the 6th grade and under boy's basketball team.  If you or someone you know is interested, please email Lisa at sports@hfamn.org.
  • As a pre-season warm-up and to get the players in the gym before official practices begin, Lisa is offering a few afternoons of "open gym".  This is NOT mandatory but is an opportunity to come shoot, dribble, pass and if enough players turn out, play some games; more than anything, so the players can get their hands on the ball. There are two open gym dates left for basketball players to polish off their skills.  Both sessions are at the Hopkins Activity Center from 3:15 - 4:45 pm.  The dates left are Tuesday, November 10th and Wednesday, November 11th.
  • We now have an email address dedicated to communications regarding HFA sports.  Please send all inquiries regarding athletics to sports@hfamn.org, rather than the Counts family email address.  Thanks!

Go Crusaders!!  Top

There are many ways that you can help out our school by volunteering!  In fact, your help is greatly needed!  Please consider one of the following wonderful ways to get involved by serving as a volunteer.  Email Mrs.Coone at acoone@hfamn.org if you are able to help.
  • Library Birthday Club – This is a great job for someone who needs to volunteer from home.  The only things required are organizational skills, a computer, email, and light graphic skills for making labels.
  • Entryway Gardner - We have two large, lovely planters in front of the school that need a green thumb or a creative imagination.  If you are interested in filling our planters with seasonal displays that make our entryway warm and inviting, please consider this your opportunity to serve.  Your efforts will be a visual gift to everyone who enters our school.
  • Track and Field Coordinator - For the past three years Mrs. Phillips has coordinated a wonderful Track and Field Day for us that we will never forget.  It's now time for a new Track and Field Coordinator to step in and take over.  Mrs. Phillips has notes, gear and lots of experience that she'll share with someone willing to serve our students and our school in this capacity.  It truly is one of our favorite days of the entire school year.  Please consider this opportunity to serve our entire student body!   Top

First Quarter report cards will go home on Friday, November 13th. There will be a parent signature label on the envelopes for parents to sign. Students need to only return the envelope; the report card can be kept at home for your records.  Watch for Honor Roll to come out soon!   Top

The traditional Virtue Family Thanksgiving Luncheon will be Monday, November 23rd.  It is a special time for our students to gather together to give thanks with their Virtue Family.  All kindergarten through 8th graders eat a family-style turkey dinner with the entire school and then head outdoors for a joint recess. Volunteers are needed to help prepare and serve the meal on that day from 9:00 am to approximately 1:00 pm. If you would like to help out at this beautiful event, please contact Margaret Grgas at 952-925-9193 ext. 139.
A registration form will be sent home with Kindergarten through 8th graders next week.  This form needs to be returned by Wednesday, November 18th.  Top
