Registration for 2010-11 School Year - Due January 31

Registration for current families for the 2010-11 school year is in process.  Please take time to read the Re-enrollment letter regarding tuition changes from the School Board. Tuition Information can be located on the Tuition Fees and Policies Form.  The Current Family Re-Enrollment Form, along with the $50 family re-enrollment fee, is due by January 31 to guarantee placement.  Registration for new families will begin on February 1. The Re-enrollment letter, the Tuition Fees and Policies Form and the Current Family Re-enrollment form can also be accessed on our web page under Parent Resources:Resources/Forms.  Top

Due to the number of days our school missed prior to Christmas vacation, we are making the following changes to the school calendar:
  • Friday, February 12: changed from a half day of school to a full day of school
  • Friday, May 14: changed from No School, Teacher's Workshops, to a full day of school
We apologize for any conflicts this may cause.  If your family has prior plans, based on the original schedule, please notify the office that your children will be missing school those days.  Top
 
 
 

Little Flowers Reminder

All three Little Flowers groups will be meeting on Tuesday, January 19, from 3:15 to 4:45.  The leaders will pick the girls up from carpool, and you can pick them up from their meeting location at 4:45.  1st and 2nd grade meet in Kattar Hall, 3rd and 4th grade meet in the library, and 5th and 6th grade meet in Moorman Hall.  Top

 

Open House for Prospective, New Families

Educational Outfitters, 952-927-6778, is offering a uniform trade-in program.  From January 4 through March 31, bring in your used uniform apparel and receive a credit towards the purchase of a new uniform item.  The credit must be used at the time of trade in, and is to be used on an item in the same category as the item turned in (such as a credit earned by turning in a jumper or skirt must be used on a new jumper or skirt).  Items with the school logo on them will be accepted, and you can turn in items that were purchased anywhere, not just at Educational Outfitters.  The items turned in are donated to charity.  The credits you can earn are:
 
Jumpers/Skirts: $4.00
Pants/Shorts/Skorts/Sweaters/Fleece Jackets: $2.00
Knit and Oxford Shirts: $1.50

Mother's Day of Renewal with Dr. Coleen Kelly Mast - Volunteers Needed

Holy Family Academy PTO is combining with Holy Family Altar & Rosary Society and the Homeschool Mother's Day of Renewal group to offer an event with Dr. Coleen Kelly Mast, Saturday, January 30.  Registration is required by sending the Mother's Day of Renewal registration form to Tina Robbins. Volunteers are needed on Friday, January 29 to help prepare food and on Saturday, January 30 to help serve food during the day of renewal and afterwards to help with cleanup.  If you can help, please contact Anita Whims. Math Counts Club - We still have room for Students in Grades 5-8 to Join!

Holy Family Academy's Math Counts Club had their first meeting on Wednesday.  Students who would like to increase their Math skills in fun and challenging ways can still join the club.  Coaches, Mr. Johnson, HFA parent and Mr. Theobald, Math Enthusiast and parishioner, will not only encourage and help students in the development of Math skills but excite them too! Please use the Math Counts registration form to sign up.  Top

 

Crusader News

Three players from the girls' Varsity team and three from the boys' Varsity team have been selected for their respective MCYO All Star teams.  The All Stars from the girls' team are Maggie Haynes, Allie Wooden and Theresa Haynes.  The All Stars from the boys' team are Joe McDonald, Seb Brown and Luke Ziesmer.  The All Star games are on Sunday, January 18 at Totino Grace High School in Fridley.  The boys' All Star game will be played at 2:00 pm, and the girls' All Star game will follow at 3:30 pm.
 
The Crusaders have jumped back into the season with both feet.  After a busy week of games this past week, the following teams will play the following games next week:
  • Wednesday, January 20: Varsity Girls @ St. Charles, 6:00 pm
  • Thursday, January 21: Varsity Boys @ St. Charles, 7:15 pm
  • Saturday, January 23: Cub Boys @ St. Charles, 9:00 am; Cub Girls @ St. John's, 11:00 am; Northstar Girls @ Our Lady of Peace, 12:15 pm
