Morning Dropoff Traffic

In order to ease congestion on Zarthan Avenue--out of consideration for our neighbors--and ensure a smooth flow of traffic into the parking lot for morning drop off, please enter the school parking lot in the same manner as afternoon pickup.  These means coming up Zarthan from the direction of 34th Street, rather than from the direction of Lake Street.  If you are coming from the south, you can easily do this by taking Lake Street North to 34th Street and turning right (just across the street from McDonald's).  If you are coming from the south, many parents turn left from Lake Street onto Yosemite and then use 33rd Street to get over to Zarthan.  Thank you for your cooperation in this.   Top

Meet the Rajans

Over the past five years our students have supported the Muragon family, of Kerala, India, through the "We Share" program.  Through prayer and works of mercy, our students helped build them a home and continue to pray for them and write them letters.  Praise God, the Muragons no longer need our help and our students have been assigned a new family to care for.  This new family, the Rajans, have five children, two who currently live in an orphanage because the family doesn't have enough money to care for them. During Lent, we are hoping to raise $2,000 to help build the Rajan's a new home, similar to that of the Muragon's.  Students have been bringing in money from allowances and change jars; adults have contributed currency in various denominations. So far we have raised over $500 in currency alone.  To find out more about the Rajans and the students' efforts, please read the lovely letter Mrs. Sabol has written about the Rajans.

Our 2009-2010 Parent Student Handbook can be found in its entirety on our web page under Parent Resources.  Please take some time to familiarize yourself with how to access the information it contains.  It is especially helpful when wondering about uniform, homework, absentee, and discipline policies. Once you have reviewed the Handbook, please sign the Proof of review and recognition of 2009/2010 Parent/Student Handbook form and turn it into the school office.   Top

Track and Field Day

Our ever-popular Track & Field Day will be held on Friday, May 28 and we are pleading with all parents to get involved by volunteering.  We need volunteers for the morning, the afternoon and all day.  You can contact Elizabeth Hessian, Track & Field Volunteer Coordinator, to sign up or use the registration form to provide us with your name and contact information.  Your willingness to help drives the success of the event. We also need sponsors--sponsors can contribute financially or provide snacks or water for our students.  If you know of an organization or person that would be willing to help, please let us know. The cost for the day is $4 per student or $15 max per family; additional funds are welcome to help those families who can not pay.  Please use this form to make payment and to sign up to volunteer by April 1

Spring Conferences

We are  not holding Parent Teacher Conferences this spring.  If you would like to meet with your child's teacher to discuss student progress, please email your child's teacher directly to set up a private appointment.  Parent feedback and support is a gift to students and teachers alike so consider contacting your child's teacher today.    Top

Together! Groups

Together! is coming to Holy Family.  There are two groups for moms forming:
  • One group will meet every other Tuesday from 9 - 11:30 am at Holy Family Church starting March 16.  Email Kristen Toste (mother of 3rd grader Francesca and 2nd grader Christian) at kristin_toste@yahoo.com within the next week so that the books can be ordered.  Childcare will not be available for this group.
  • The second group will meet every other Monday at 1:15 pm in Ann Karels' home starting March 15.  Email Ann Karels (mother of a bunch of HFA kids) at a.karels@yahoo.com if you are interested in this group.  Child care by two responsible teens will be available for a free will offering.
In a small, safe, team-like setting, we will dive into church documents on marriage, family and prayer; form new friendships and learn so much together.  Friends are welcome to join too!
