Feed My Starving Children Holy Week Volunteer Opportunity for Students in Grades 5-8

Holy Family and the Sorensen Neighborhood are teaming up with Feed My Starving Children to help the thousands of children who continue to suffer in Haiti.  A special Holy Week volunteer opportunity for HFA students in grades 5 - 8 is being offered on Wednesday, March 31 from 2:30 - 4:30 pm.  Space is available for the first 40 students who sign up by completing the permission slips (remember that ALL field trips require TWO completed permission slips - one for the Archdiocese and one for our school) and submitting payment to the school office.  Because of Spring Break, please contact Sarah Mealey if your child would like to attend. Students who attend will leave school at 2:00 pm by bus to travel to Feed My Starving Children in Chanhassen; the same students will need to be picked up at school when the bus brings them back at 5:00 pm.  Please see the Feed My Starving Children Flyer for more information. Top

Christmas Program DVD

Remember our wonderful Christmas program - the beautiful children and their voices mingled amongst Christmas lights?  It was glorious and we are happy to say that Rick Nichols captured it for us on DVD.  What we need now is someone willing to duplicate the DVD so we can make it available to our families.  If you have the ability to duplicate DVDs and are willing to share your time and talents with us for this project, please contact Theresa Zangel at tzangel@hfamn.org.  If you would like to purchase a copy of the DVD please contact Carol Stewart at cstewart@hfamn.org    Top

A Word from the Director of "The Princess and the Pea"

"Claudia Capello and I would like to thank all of you parents and volunteers who made the production of "The Princess and the Pea" possible last weekend. We could never have accomplished what we did without your many hours of driving, sewing, painting, babysitting, clean-up and great patience. We also want to say how proud we are of all the students and the amazing job they did on stage. It was truly a pleasure to see them accomplish so much in such a short amount of time. And finally, thank you to all of you who came to see the production - you were a wonderful audience and your kind appreciation of our work meant a great deal to us."

God bless, Laura Ahlquist

The 7th grade and under floor hockey team lost their first tournament game in a heartbreaker, 2-1 in overtime.  Many thanks to 8th grade "assistant coach" Joe M., who helped our rookie coach through her first game.

The 8th grade and under floor hockey team went all the way to the championship game in their tournament.  After handily winning their first two games (including HFA's first ever floor hockey win), they unfortunately lost in the championship game 2-1 to St. Helena.

Congratulations to our players, who gave their all in these tournaments.

Registration for Softball is now open.  Please use the attached form to sign up.  Registration is due Friday, March 19.  Top
