Spring Picture Day ~ this Wednesday, April 21

Lifetouch will be here this Wednesday, April 21, for Spring Picture Day!!  This is a fundraising event for Holy Family Academy in which student photos are taken in casual poses and after they are developed, parents have an opportunity to preview them and THEN decide if they would like to purchase them; all students are photographed.  The information sheet (click here) with pose selection (click here) was sent home with students last Wednesday. Students are welcome to come dressed casually but nice - jeans are allowed but no holes, tears or rips allowed.  Seeing as this is not a Pre-K school day, Pre-K students who would like to get their picture taken are welcome to come at 9:00 am.  Please notify the office if your Pre-K child will be getting their picture taken.  Sibling groups are also welcome and will be scheduled at the end of the day beginning at 2:30 pm.  Please notify the office if you would like sibling groups to be photographed.

Rajan Update-We are in the Final Stage of Fundraising for their New Home!

During Spring Break we received a lovely letter from Amutha, the mother of the Rajan family; it encouraged students to keep up their good work raising money for a new family home.  To date we have collected about $1,200 of the $2,000 needed. Some of the ways students are collecting money include extra chores around the house, lemonade stands, and collecting door to door.  An anonymous donor will match all donations made from now until April 30!!  We will conclude collecting for the Rajan's on April 30 so we encourage students to bring in their donations soon. Thank you to all of the students and families who are doing works of mercy, offering sacrifices and working for the Rajans.  Your efforts are making a difference here on earth and they are felt mightily in heaven.

Congratulations to Sarah R.

Congratulations to our Fifth grader, Sarah R., who won first runner up in the Archdiocesan Missionary Writing Contest!  Over 360 students in the Archdiocese submitted poems and prayers that they wrote about being a Missionary and Sarah's was exceptional!  Sarah was presented an Archdiocesan Award here at school this Friday by Deacon Mickey Friezen from the Office of Missions. Congratulations Sarah!!  You can read her wonderful submission here.
