State of the School Parent Meeting This Week!

At least one parent from each family is asked to attend our annual State of the School Parent Meeting this Thursday, May 20, at 7:00 pm in Kattar Hall.  This annual meeting is an important opportunity for HFA parents to get an update about our annual school budget, next year's enrollment, our athletic and sport programs, and next year's faculty.  In addition, you'll be introduced to next year's PTO Board as we say, "Thank you" to our current and outgoing Board members.  We look forward to seeing you there!

Thank You for Teacher Appreciation Week!

Thank you to all of the families of HFA who so richly blessed our staff during Teacher Appreciation Week!  Every day we were treated to something wonderful that reminded us of what a privilege it is to serve God's children by working at HFA.  We received home-baked muffins and desserts, treat bags including Caribou, cheese and crackers with wine (to take home) and by far, our favorite, a spiritual bouquet filled with prayers, rosaries, Masses, and novena's.  The spiritual bouquet was presented to us on Wednesday during Mass at which time Father Dufner was also able to thank us with a blessing.  The entire week was such a gift.  Thank you to everyone who worked so hard to make it so special for all of us.  We loved every day of it!

Annual Parent Survey

It’s that time of the year once again when we ask our currently enrolled families to take a few minutes to complete our annual Parent Survey.  This is your opportunity to provide us with your thoughts, opinions and insight into how we are doing as the chosen Catholic school for your children.  The window of time to complete the survey is very short, only one week, so your timeliness is critical.  The survey will officially close at midnight on Friday, May 21, after which time we will not have access to your input.  All HFA parents are invited to complete the survey so there is the opportunity for two surveys to come from one registered household.  You will receive the survey via email on Monday, May 17 which will help alleviate input from guests who read the E-Herald but aren’t actually parents of our students. Watch for the survey on Monday and and please respond as soon as possible.

Donut Sunday Coordinator Needed

If you enjoy the Sundays that our HFA students help serve donuts and coffee after Mass, please consider helping.  We are looking for someone to coordinate service for the 9:00 Mass.  This includes getting everything set up before Mass and overseeing the students as they serve after Mass.  Please contact Rochelle Horinek if you have questions about this opportunity.

Track and Field Fast Approaching ~ Help Still Needed!!

Track and Field is in two weeks!!  Thank you to all the people who have volunteered to help.  However, we still need more help.  We are especially looking for individuals to help out with child care for either the 11:00 am to 1:00 pm shift and/or the 12:00 pm to 3:00 pm shift.  Please let Elizabeth Hessian know if you are able to help.  More detailed information about what students should bring; bag lunch, sun screen, etc. will be in next week's Herald. Hot lunch will NOT be provided.  Disregard the hot lunch menu for Track and Field Day. Top

Pope Benedict XVI's Spiritual Bouquet

Five years ago on April 19th, Pope Benedict XVI was elected as the Vicar of Christ.  As an anniversary gift, we invited HFA families to offer spiritual gifts of prayer and sacrifice to lift him up during the difficult time he is currently experiencing. A beautiful book was compiled of these gifts and sent to Rome.  We received a letter from the Most Reverend Raymond L. Burke, Prefect, letting us know that the Holy Father received our book.  You can read the letter here.  Thank you to all of you for participating in this important and beautiful gift!!  Top
